MERIT is Atlanta's new comedy booking platform — a shared system that connects comedians with multiple clubs and rooms across the city. It's designed to make the booking process simpler and more transparent for everyone involved. Three clubs have already signed on, with more details coming at launch.
Who runs MERIT?
MERIT is operated as an independent company. No single club is in charge — it's a neutral platform built to serve the broader Atlanta comedy community fairly.

Is it free to register?
Yes — completely free. There is no cost to create or maintain your profile on MERIT.
Getting Booked
How does booking work?
When a club is interested in booking you, you'll receive an offer via text and email with all the relevant details — show date, time, pay, and venue. You can accept or decline. If you accept, the club confirms the booking. It's straightforward and keeps everything in writing.
What makes my profile stand out?
A complete profile goes a long way. Make sure to include video links, demographic information, social media handles, and any relevant credits or experience. Bookers use all of this when considering comedians for shows.
How do I know if a club is interested in me?
You'll be notified by both text and email when a club wants to offer you a booking. There's no separate app to check — notifications come directly to you.
Your Information
Is my information private?
Your profile information is only visible to club staff who use the MERIT platform. It is never sold or shared publicly.
Why do you ask about race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation?
Clubs use this information to help build diverse and well-rounded lineups. All of these fields are completely optional — "prefer not to answer" is always a valid choice, and leaving fields blank will never count against you.
How do I update my profile?
You can update your profile using the edit link included in your registration confirmation email. If you need additional help, reach out directly at info@meritbooking.com.
Getting Paid
How do clubs pay?
Clubs pay via Venmo or Cash App using the handle you provide during registration. Make sure your payment handle is accurate when you sign up.
What if I don't have Venmo or Cash App?
Contact the booking club directly to arrange an alternative payment method. MERIT can help you find the right contact if needed.
Video Submissions
What kind of videos should I submit?
Submit a clip that's 3–5 minutes long and representative of your normal sets. Your second video can showcase something different — a different style, venue, or type of performance.
What happens after I submit a video?
Bookers watch your video when they're considering you for an upcoming show. Having strong, representative footage is one of the best things you can do to get booked.
What kind of video links work?
YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and any other link that plays directly in a browser will work. If a booker can click the link and watch it without logging in, it should be fine.
